Intraventricular Haemorrhage

Intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH) is bleeding into the fluid-filled areas (ventricles) inside the brain. The condition occurs most often in babies that are born early. The amount of bleeding varies and is graded in terms of its severity. In Lily’s case she had a Grade IV IVH which meant that the bleeding extended into the brain tissue around the ventricles.
